Ocean Forecasting
The Modelling House develops and maintains a series of automated coastal, oceanic and atmospheric forecast systems. Environmental data is downloaded on a 6-hourly basis from weather prediction data servers. The data is then refined around coastal areas using a nearshore wave propagation model. Data tables and maps are automatically generated and uploaded on web servers.
The Modelling House provides data to forecast websites in New Zealand, Brazil and the Island of La Réunion in the Indian Ocean.
